A night after notching just four hits and a run in a loss to the Chugiak Chinooks on Wednesday, the Peninsula Oilers’ bats came alive again to top the Chinooks 9-5 on Thursday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park in Kenai.
The Post 20 Twins swept host Fairbanks on Wednesday. The Twins improved to 16-6 overall and 10-2 in the league with a 14-7 victory in the first game and a 17-7 victory in the second game. Both contests were league affairs.
The Peninsula Oilers lost on a walkoff home run for the second time in three nights. Kevin Cornelius led off the 13th inning with a home run against Louis Cohen to give the Anchorage Glacier Pilots a 1-0 victory in Alaska Baseball League play at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage on Monday.
