The Soldotna girls won the Homer Winter Carnival on Saturday, finishing off Homer 61-16 to clinch the win. The roundup also has results from the Valdez Elks Tournament, the Ninilchik Tournament, and Nikolaevsk's trip to Unalaska.

Both the Kenai girls and boys basketball teams defeated Kodiak on Friday in Northern Lights Conference action. The girls game was in Kenai, while the boys played in Kodiak. On Saturday, the Kenai girls won, but the Kenai boys lost.

The Homer girls and Soldotna boys won Kenai Peninsula Borough Nordic ski races Saturday at Tsalteshi Trails behind Skyview High School.
The weather was perfect for being outside, with temperatures in the 30s and partially sunny skies. Such conditions are tricky for waxing for classical skiing, however.

The Cook Inlet Academy boys grabbed a win Thursday at the Ninilchik Tournament with a 72-62 decision over Ninilchik. The CIA girls ousted Ninilchik 52-25, and the Seward boys picked up a victory Thursday at the 35th annual Valdez Elks Basketball Tournament.

The Besh Cup held its sixth race of the year Sunday in Fairbanks. Bree Mucha of Soldotna High School qualified for the Junior Olympics, while SoHi's Sadie Fox and Lucas Michael qualified for the Arctic Winter Games.
