John-Mark Pothast and Kara Johnston were the top riders Thursday at the Tsalteshi Cycle Series at Tsalteshi Trails.

Jake Streich and Taylor Ostrander won Salmon Run Series No. 5 on Wednesday at Tsalteshi Trails in Soldotna. Streich led all finishers across the line at the five-kilometer race at 19 minutes, 35 seconds, with Ostrander just behind at 19:38.

Soldotna football to scrimmage Saturday The Soldotna football team will scrimmage against Chugiak on Saturday at Justin Maile Field in Soldotna. The C-team plays at 10 a.m., the JV plays at 11:30 a.m. and the varsity plays at 1 p.m.
