Birch Ridge is hosting some very cool events in the next week. The Pink Ribbon Rally is set for Sunday. You can't really say enough about the rally and the wonderful job its organizers do to put this golf tournament together.

Twin City Raceway will have circle track racing Saturday, with races starting at 6 p.m. The gates open at 3 p.m., while qualifying is at 4 p.m. In the event of rain, the event will be made up at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Rex Shields and Jaycie Calvert were the top runners at the fourth edition of the Salmon Run Series on Wednesday at Tsalteshi Trails. Shields crossed the finish line of the five-kilometer run at 16 minutes, 32 seconds.

The American Legion Twins are down, but not out. After falling in a 4-3 walkoff loss to South on Tuesday's opening day of the Legion State tournament in Anchorage, the Twins were facing the threat of elimination Wednesday morning at Mulcahy Field.
