ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Anchorage police are investigating a New Year's Day shooting that hospitalized a 30-year-old woman with a wound in her back.
Police said Jennifer Johnson's injury was not life-threatening. She was found inside a South Anchorage home after a man called police at 3:38 a.m. Wednesday
The man initially told police that Johnson shot herself in the back, police said. Police spokesman Ron McGee said police are suspicious of the claim.
