Kenai resident Jacob James Parnell died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, at his home in Kenai. He was 2 months old.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church, 47585 Ciechanski Road in Kenai. Pastor Thomas Schmidt will officiate. A gathering will immediately follow the services at the church. Jacob’s ashes will be interred at the Kenai City Cemetery in the spring.
Jacob was born Wednesday Oct. 11, 2006, to Eric and Christina (Cole) Parnell at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna.
“Jacob brought such joy to his family. He was a reflection of his mother’s love and his father’s character. We thank our Lord Jesus Christ for giving us this time with one of his precious little lambs,” the family said. “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28.”
Jacob is survived by his parents; sister, Emily Parnell of Kenai; grandmothers, Ronda Holben and Sherilyn Cole of Kenai; grandfather, Daniel Cole of Mead, Colo.; great-grandmother, Dorothy Trader of Kenai; aunts, Michelle Walker of Kenai, Cathy Wilcox of Wasilla, Kathy Lee of Rose, Okla. and Patty Conner of Sacramento, Calif.; uncles, David Parnell of Wasilla, Jonathon Parnell of Aurora, Colo., Anthony Cole of Kenai, Eric and Ryan Cole of Nikiski and Ronald Walker of Kenai; and cousins, Matthew and Tristan Walker of Kenai, Jared Parnell of Nikiski and Hannah, Orren and Bobby Wilcox of Wasilla.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions may be made to the Jacob Parnell Memorial Fund, care of Alaska USA Federal Credit Union account No. 1303804, 10576 Kenai Spur Highway, Kenai AK 99611.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
