Group to study life of John

Kenai First Baptist Church will conduct an in-depth Bible study called "Beloved Disciple," by Beth Moore, looking at the life of John the apostle and his relationship with Christ.

The study begins Thursday at 10 a.m. and continues through 12:15 p.m. Child care is provided. Call Carole at 283-7772 for more information.

Single parents program offered

The Faith Christian Community Parkside Campus in Anchorage is hosting "Just Me and the Kids: Building Healthy Single-Parent Families," a comprehensive eight-week program for single parents.

The program begins Jan. 14 and runs through March 4. Sessions are from 6 to 8 p.m. with dinner served from 6 to 6:30 p.m.

Separate sessions will be conducted for parents and for children so the entire family can benefit from the ministry. The material is specifically designed to help single-parent families work through the difficulties of divorce. For more information, call Alice at (907) 337-2135.

Precept Ministries training institute planned

Precept Ministries International will conduct a training institute for students, leaders and potential leaders Jan. 16, 17 and 18 at the Kenai Christian Church, 104 McKinley St. in Kenai.

Sponsored by Precept Ministries International of Chattanooga, Tenn., the institute teaches inductive Bible study skills for those preparing to lead discussion groups. Bible study observation, interpretation and application skills also are taught.

Healing Rooms open every Friday and Saturday

The Healing Rooms, a Bible-based Christian ministry in Kenai, is now open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Healing Rooms is located across from the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center on Kenai Spur Highway next to Little Ski-Mo. Its mission is to bless Alaska cities in the area of divine healing. For more information, call Ben Eby at 283-4404.

Friendship closet open Wednesdays

The Aurora Heights Assembly of God "Friendship Closet" is open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to meet people's clothing needs. The clothing closet is located at the church on the corner of McGahan and Marie Avenue, near Mile 27 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. For more information, call 776-8723.
