Action needs to be taken now on Cooper Landing Bypass

Posted: Monday, January 03, 2005

The longer we wait on the Cooper Landing Bypass, the more deaths of humans and wildlife will accrue. Princess corner, Wildlands corner (milepost 50.1) and Gwins corner need to be fixed, now!

We still are several years out on a bypass. How many more fatalities, roadkills and tractor trailers have to go into the ditch or worse yet, the river?

The bottom line is the river needs to be protected. Juneau Creek is the only viable option. The existing footprint and the Cooper Creek variant are too close to the river.

Plan for the future and save lives, the watershed and a community by moving the road north.
