HOMER (AP) -- Human remains were found in an alder patch in Anchor Point, Alaska State Troopers in Homer said.
The remains were discovered Monday by a passerby who alerted troopers. They were tentatively identified as those of Charles H. Crocker, 60, of Anchor Point.
Crocker was last seen in August of 1998 when he told a friend that he would never be seen again. A few days later the vehicle he was driving was found on the beach just north of Whiskey Gulch, about one mile from where his remains were located. A .44 magnum revolver was also located at the scene with one spent round.
