Dessert auction, drama skits slated

The Nikiski Drama, Debate, and Forensics team will host dessert auctions and skits at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Nikiski High School Auditorium.

Dramatic and humorous skits will be preformed by past and current members of the team. The cost is $5 at the door. For more information, call Kara Bethune at 776-3456, 776-7638.

Immunization clinic canceled

The Kenai Public Health Center’s regular weekly immunization clinic will be canceled Monday. For more information, call 335-3400.

After school club set

Good News clubs will be held Tuesday at Soldotna Elementary and Aurora Borealis Charter School and Jan. 11 at Kalifornsky Beach Elementary, Cook Inlet Academy, Mountain View Elementary and Sears Elementary.

Clubs meet immediately after school and last for one hour. Children are taught moral values and character qualities through lessons, games, and songs. Prizes and snacks also are available. Volunteer leaders are screened for child protection. Parents are welcome to attend and are responsible for transportation following the clubs. Permission slips are available at the schools. Clubs are sponsored by Child Evangelism Fellowship.

Suicide to be discussed

Signs of Suicide program will be presented to Kenai Middle School students at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at the school’s library. Students may participate in the program with parental permission. It is open to the public.

Area women to take a break

The Peninsula Take-A-Break will host its New Year’s luncheon from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 17 at Solid Rock Conference Center at Mile 90.5 of the Sterling Highway. Sandy Dallmann will be the featured speaker. Her topic will be permanent cosmetics. Dala Conner will share “Life is an Adventure.”

The cost is $10. Free childcare is available.
