Vandals smash vehicles in Anchorage

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Anchorage police are looking for the vandals who shattered windows on more than a dozen vehicles in East Anchorage.

Calls to police started coming in about 3 a.m. Thursday and continued until nearly 9 a.m., police spokesman Ron McGee said.

Police believe the vandals used a heavy object like a tire iron, he said.

A witness spotted two boys or young men in a tan-colored sedan -- possibly an early 1990s Nissan Sentra -- leaving the scene of one damaged car, McGee said.
