ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Four men were arrested early Saturday and charged with robbing and beating a man, Anchorage police said.
The four men robbed the 20-year-old man and then beat him about 3:45 a.m. in front of a billiards hall on Minnesota Drive, police said.
The man managed to escape but the four attackers got in a car and followed him to another location, where they beat him again.
A patrol officer arrived in time to see the four men pile back into the car and drive away. The car was stopped moments later and the four were arrested.
Police identified the four as: Troy Smith, 20, Isaac Meyer, 20, and Jarred Stigal, 20, and Dion Aguilar, 19. They were being held in the Anchorage Jail.
All were charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree assault. Smith faced an additional charge of third-degree theft. They also were cited for underage drinking.
