Wolverines romp past Mariners

The Homer High School boys basketball team came up short in the fourth-place game at the Anchorage Christian Schools Invitational Saturday, dropping the game 65-58 to Dillingham.

In Friday's game, the Mariners defeated Valdez 60-41.

Royce Holm led the Mariners with 20 points in Saturday's game while Neal Kuipers netted 15.

Ryan Savo was the high scorer for the Wolverines with 18 points.

Kuipers had the hot hand in Friday's game with 25 points.

Kenai boys 55, Seward 52

The Kenai Central High School boys basketball team defeated Seward Saturday in a nonconference game.

Marcus Webster led the Kardinals with 16 points while Caleb Schooley had 12 and Joel Dunn contributed nine points.

Jake Boulden had 16 points for the Seahawks while Bert Elhard had 11 and Doug Jones scored 10 points.

Seward led 27-26 at the half. The Kardinals took the lead with a third quarter surge, taking a 44-38 lead into the final quarter, then held off Seward's late rally.
