Swim club resumes practice

Rec center plans early closure

The Kenai Recreation Center will close its weight room at 3 p.m. today for new flooring to be installed. The room will reopen Monday. The basketball, wallyball and racquetball courts and saunas will remain open and all regularly scheduled events will continue. For more information, call 283-3855.

Soroptimist monthly meeting slated

Soroptimist International of the Kenai Peninsula will holds its monthly business meeting at 5:30 p.m. today at the Golden Dragon Restaurant in Soldotna. For more information, call 262-7480.

Photography exhibit delayed

The Rarefied Light photography exhibition slated to be held in the Gary Freeburg Art Gallery at Kenai Peninsula College has be delayed until Monday. The show will be available for viewing through Jan. 29. For more information, call Celia Anderson at 262-0361.

Fish and Game committee to meet

The Homer Fish and Game advisory committee will hold its election meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Islands and Oceans Center. A continued discussion of Board of Fish-Upper Cook Inlet and possible Southcentral Board of Game proposals also will be discussed. For more information, call Marvin Peters at 235-2468.

Board of Fisheries public hearing set

The Alaska Board of Fisheries will hold a public hearing at the Soldotna Sports Center conference room beginning at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 14 and continuing Jan. 15 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The purpose of the hearing is to gather information and public comments concerning proposals and issues to be addressed by the board at its Upper Cook Inlet Finfish regulatory meeting Jan. 17-29.

Developmental screening offered
