Anchorage police investigate man's death as homicide

Posted: Tuesday, January 07, 2003

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Anchorage police are investigating the death of a 50-year-old man found dead inside his South Anchorage home as a homicide.

The man's name has not been released because next of kin have not been notified, police said.

The victim was discovered by police after a co-worker asked officers to check on him.

The co-worker had gone to the victim's home, in the 3000 block of East 84th Avenue, after the man failed to report to work Monday morning. The colleague noticed that the man's television was on, but he did not come to the door.

Police detectives would not disclose the cause of death.
