Intern program planned

Applications are available for graduating seniors from Alaska high schools and for college students from Alaska for summer internships in U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens' Washington, D.C., office.

Forms must be completed and returned to the senator's Washington office, postmarked no later than March 30. Forms can be obtained from high school counselors, from the senator's office or online at www.senate.gov/~stevens.

The first intern session begins June 2, the second begins July 7.

Interns assist the senator and his staff in the day-to-day operations of the office, including monitoring committee hearings, conducting research, answering phones, typing, filing and more.

For more information, call the senator's Kenai office at 283-5808.
