KPC orientation, registration dates set

The Kenai Peninsula College Kenai River Campus will hold new student orientation for the general public at 3 and 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Walk-in registration for the general public will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

KPC will be closed for staff training and a collegewide meeting from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Bee keepers’ meeting scheduled

The Bee Keepers Educational Exchange on the Peninsula (BKEEP) will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Soldotna Middle School. The topic will be elections of new club officers. It is open to the public. For more information, call Rosy Thompson at 262-6084 or Ray Southwell at 394-3381.

Fundraiser for Ninilchik library scheduled

A fundraiser for the Ninilchik Community Library will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 27 in the Carol Bock Hall at the Ninilchik Fairgrounds. The fundraiser will include a talent show and a spaghetti dinner and dessert silent auction. For more information, call Debi Henderson at 252-3544.

Annual wine tasting, auction to be held

Hospice of the Central Peninsula’s 11th annual Hospice Auction and Wine Tasting will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. Gourmet appetizers and specialty wines will be served. A silent auction, live auction and variety of instant purchases are some of the planned activities. Reading carnival seeks vendors

The fourth annual Peninsula Reading Carnival will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 17 in the Soldotna Middle School gym. Applications for booths at the event will be accepted through Monday. Booths cost $25 for businesses or $10 for nonprofit organizations. Proceeds will benefit literacy projects.
