TALLAHASSE, Fla. -- Alana Beard had 23 points and Iciss Tillis 19 -- and they combined for all but eight of Duke's second-half points -- as the fifth-ranked Blue Devils beat Florida State 73-60 Monday night.
Beard and Tillis, both freshmen, totaled 36 points in the final 20 minutes as Duke pulled away in a game that was tied at the half. They also sparked an 8-0 run in the middle of the second half that put Duke ahead 48-39.
Rochelle Parent added 12 points for Duke (14-1, 2-1 ACC). Brooke Wyckoff led Florida State (10-3, 2-1) with 16 points, while Levys Torres scored 15 and April Traylor added 13.
The teams were tied 29 at halftime, after Florida State led for most of the first half. Duke used a 10-1 run late in the half to take a three-point lead before the Seminoles tied it.
North Carolina 71, No. 16 Clemson 70
CLEMSON, S.C. -- Juana Brown scored North Carolina's last six points, including the game-winning basket with 19.1 seconds left.
After Brown's 12-foot jumper gave North Carolina a 69-67 lead, Coretta Brown, not related to Juana, stole the ball on Clemson's following possession. Juana Brown was fouled and hit both free throws for the Tar Heels (8-5, 2-2 ACC).
Chrissy Floyd hit a long 3-pointer with 0.3 seconds for the Lady Tigers (11-4, 2-2). But North Carolina inbounded to ball to close it out.
Juana Brown led North Carolina with 20 points and LaQuanda Barksdale, the ACC's leading scorer, had 19 points and 15 rebounds.
, her seventh double-double.
Floyd finished with 24 points. Krystal Scott scored a career-high 19 for the Lady Tigers.
