KPC open house, registration today
Kenai Peninsula College will host its annual open house today from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. College tours, door prizes and refreshments will be available, and faculty will be on hand to answer questions. Sled dog association to meet tonight
The Peninsula Sled Dog Racing Association will meet today at the Kenai River Center. Club business will take place from 7 until 8 p.m., with a presentation on dog gaits and movements from 8 until 9 p.m. Anyone interested in dogs, mushing or skijoring is welcome to attend. Elks to hold Hoop Shoot Saturday
The annual Elks Hoop Shoot will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Kenai Recreation Center. Age group free-throw competitions for 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13 year-old boys and girls will be held, with a hot dog lunch to follow. For more information, call 283-7776 after 4 p.m.
Race seeks volunteers

Book club meeting planned
The Kenai Library Book Club will meet Jan 28 at 7 p.m. to discuss "Blott on the Landscape," by Tom Sharpe. The club is free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at 283-4378.
Fund-raising auction planned
The Kenaitze Indian Tribe will hold a semi-formal dinner and auction Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. Donations for the auction are being accepted.
Programs to benefit from the auction include Native Youth Olympics, Jabila'ina dance group, Chuda Kuya drum group, Fish Camp, Susten Camp and Moose Camp. To make a donation or for information, call Arthur Barbaza at 283-3633.
