La Leche meeting planned

Kenai Eagles plan dinner

The Kenai Eagles Aerie will hold an Alaska dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the aerie. Dinner will be a variety of game and seafood prepared in special recipes. Dinner is free for members and their guests. For more information, call Tommy Thompson at 283-4938 after 2 p.m.

Social Security reps to visit peninsula

Social Security Administration representatives will be on the Kenai Peninsula from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Seward City Hall; from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Kenai City Hall; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Homer Senior Citizens Center.

Kenai River advisory board to meet

The Kenai River Special Management Area Advisory Board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road. Agenda topics will include the Kenai River access improvement proposal, potential regulation changes for the Kenai River special management area, River Terrace RV Park contamination status update and other committee and study updates. Fish stocking plan open for comment

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game Division of Sport Fish's fish stocking plan is in its draft format and ready for public comment. The division plans to release more than 7 million fish over the next five years. The plan is posted at statewide/hatchery/stockingplan.cfm.

The deadline for comments is Jan. 16.

Safety day meeting planned

There will be an organizational meeting for Safety Day activities at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Soldotna State Farm office. All parties interested in participating in the annual event are encouraged to attend. For more information, call Nancy Mitchell at 262-4440.

Ski team plans fund-raiser

The Homer High School Mariners ski team will hold a raffle fund-raiser for a 2003 Yamaha 700ccSX Viper snowmachine. The drawing will be held in conjunction with the team's spaghetti dinner at 5 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Homer High School commons.

Tickets for the raffle are $5 each and can be obtained by calling (907) 235-5354 or from any Mariner skier. The cost of dinner is $5 per person or $20 per family. You need not be present to win.
