Genealogical society meeting slated

The Totem Tracers Genealogical Society will holds its resource time from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Kenai Community Library.

Historical society plans movie

A "Kid's Guide to Kenai," a movie made in 2003 by John and Berni Wensley's classes at Mountain View Elementary School, will be shown at 1 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church of the New Covenant. It is open to the public.

The movie is the result of several months of research concerning Kenai's history and culture.

Women voters to meet

The Central Peninsula League of Women Voters will meet at 4 p.m. Jan 13. The agenda for the year will be discussed. It is open to the public. For more information and location, call 262-3908 or 260-3111.

Teen dance planned

The Boys and Girls Club Teen Center is hosting a dance for high school students from 7 to 10 p.m. Jan. 14. Admission is $4 for members and $5 for nonmembers. For more information, call Dawn at 283-3855.

Autism workshop scheduled

Frontier Community Services will hold an autism workshop from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 21 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Borough Building in the assembly chambers. Chris Crawford of the Special Education Service Agency will instruct.

Participants will receive increased understanding of autism spectrum disorders, including definitions, characteristics, early warning signs, causes and myths.
