Historical group features Russian era

The Kasilof Historical Society will meet today at the McLane Center on Kalifornsky Beach Road. The program will be Terry Carter speaking on Russian history. The business meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. with the program at 7 p.m. For more information call 262-2439.

RC and D to hold annual meeting

The Kenai Peninsula Resource Conservation and Development District will hold its annual meeting today at 3 p.m. at 110 Trading Bay Drive, Suite 160, in Kenai. Representatives from the unincorporated communities of Sterling and Funny River will share project success stories. The meeting is open to the public. For more information, call 283-7493, ext. 106.

Soroptimist meeting planned

Soroptimist International of Twin Cities will meet today at Peninsula Steak House at 5:30 p.m. The monthly business meeting will follow at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 262-4889.

Chamber meeting to be held

The North Peninsula Chamber of Commerce will meet today at noon at the North Kenai Baptist Church. The public is welcome to attend the meeting featuring Era Aviation.

Boys and Girls Club board to meet

The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula will hold its annual board of directors meeting at 6 p.m. today. The board will consider updating the private, nonprofit corporation's bylaws and will hold elections for officers. Copies of the proposed law changes are available for review. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the club at 11247 Frontage Road in Kenai. For more information, call 283-2682.

Gardening program scheduled

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will hold Master Gardener Programs in Kenai starting today and Homer starting Feb. 21. For more information, call 262-5824.

SBDC to hold workshop

The Small Business Development Center and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center will co-sponsor a workshop on "how to successfully sell to the state of Alaska." The workshop will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Red Diamond Center, Suite 16. PTAC representatives will examine myths associated with state purchasing procedures and how to locate procurement opportunities on line. This seminar is free. To register, call SBDC at 262-7497.

Charter logbooks due

Operators of any saltwater charter vessel in 2001 need to report their logbook information by Tuesday. Failure to report and comply with this deadline is a violations punishable by a fine. Sport fish guide, business forms available

The Division of Sport Fish registration forms for guides and businesses will be available for new businesses Tuesday at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game office on Kalifornsky Beach Road. State regulations mandate that guides register annually with the department and that a copy of the registration be carried with them as well as their guide registration.
