KETCHIKAN (AP) -- Cape Fox Corp. has hired the chairman of Alaska Pacific University's Business Administration Department as its new chief executive officer.
The Saxman Native village corporation on Wednesday said Bruce Borup will replace Peter Gigante, who resigned Aug. 31.
Chief Financial Officer Diane Palmer said Borup would be a positive addition to the corporation and community.
''He's got a lot of experience in economic development and business and the tourism fields,'' Palmer said.
Before chairing the APU department, Borup was CEO of Alaska Incentives, which puts together sales promotions for companies.
He also worked as a rural economic development consultant and spent six years in the Army as an officer in the Airborne Ranger Division.
