Pastor from Siberia to speak here
Joe Purcell will speak at Peninsula Christian Center during services Sunday through Wednesday. Services are at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Purcell, previously a lawyer from Wasilla, pastors a church in Irkutsk, Siberia, with his wife, Mary, and their four children. His anointed words and inspired messages never fail to speak to the heart. He comes with a word from God that is encouraging, affirming, uplifting and refreshing.
The Peninsula Christian Center is behind the Salvation Army store on the Kenai Spur Highway in Soldotna.
Trumpet of Faith conference set
Kalifornsky Christian Center invites all to a "Blow the Trumpet of Faith" conference, Sunday through Jan. 19, at Mile 17 of Kalifornsky Beach Road.
The week-long conference includes services daily at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. and feature speakers from around the United States and the United Kingdom.
The center also will conduct 24 hours of worship beginning today at 9 a.m. and 12 hours of prayer beginning at 9 tonight.

Bible study offered
"Beloved Disciple," an in-depth Bible study by Beth Moore, will be offered from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Thursday through Jan. 20, at First Baptist Church of Kenai. Child care will be provided.

Homer church gives away coats
Good, clean coats are being accepted at East Homer Church of Christ through Wednesday for distribution to those in need of a coat. Coats will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 18.
Dawn Mallette to speak
Dawn Mallette will speak to Women's Aglow at 7 p.m. Monday at the Salvation Army chapel in Kenai.

Single parents program offered
The Faith Christian Community Parkside Campus in Anchorage is hosting "Just Me and the Kids: Building Healthy Single-Parent Families," a comprehensive eight-week program for single parents.
The program begins Tuesday, and runs through March 4. Sessions are from 6 to 8 p.m. with dinner served from 6 to 6:30 p.m.
Separate sessions will be conducted for parents and for children so the entire family can benefit from the ministry. The material is specifically designed to help single-parent families work through the difficulties of divorce.

Training institute planned
Precept Ministries International will conduct a training institute for students, leaders and potential leaders Thursday through Jan. 18, at the Kenai Christian Church, 104 McKinley Street, Kenai.
Sponsored by Precept Ministries International of Chattanooga, Tenn., the institute teaches inductive Bible study skills for those preparing to lead discussion groups. Bible study observation, interpretation and application skills also are taught.

Healing Rooms open weekends
The Healing Rooms, a Bible-based Christian ministry in Kenai, is now open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Healing Rooms is across from the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center on the Kenai Spur Highway next to Little Ski-Mo.
Its mission is to bless Kenai Peninsula and other Alaska cities in the area of divine healing. For information, call Ben Eby at 283-4404.
