Senior service board meeting set

The Nikiski Senior Service Area will hold its board of directors meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center. For more information, call Leigh at 776-7654.

Genealogical society to meet

The Totem Tracers Genealogical Society will present a class on immigration records at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Family History Center in Soldotna.

Fisherman's Fund meeting set

The Cook Inlet Fisherman's Fund will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Aquaculture Building in the upstairs conference room. The topic is the upcoming Board of Fisheries meeting. For more information, call Doug Bosom at (907) 567-3951.

Rec center plans closure

The Kenai Recreation Center will be closed Friday to Jan. 17 to install new flooring in the lobby. The following activities will remain on its calendar: Reads Primary, senior line dancing, Kenai Central High School practice and city league men's basketball. All other areas and activities will reopen Jan. 18. For more information, call 283-3855.

Developmental screening offered

Frontier Community Services Early Intervention will offer free developmental screening for children ages birth to 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at its office. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call Renie Aragon at 262-3144, ext. 227.

Fish board hearing slated

The Board of Fisheries will hold a public hearing on Upper Cook Inlet proposals at 1 p.m. Friday and 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Soldotna Sports Center (times are not confirmed.) For more information, call Diana Cote at (907) 465-4110.

Bridges to meet

Bridges Community Resource Network Inc. will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at 145 Kasilof Ave. in Soldotna. The election of board members will be held. All Bridges members and interested community members are encouraged to attend. For more information, call 262-9019.

Writers club to host dinner

The eighth annual Writers Night and dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center.
