Learn about foster care and adoption

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Office of Children's Services, will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at 145 Main Street Loop in Kenai. The Office of Children's Services offers monthly Resource Family Orientation to give interested individuals a brief overview of the state's foster care and adoption programs and process. Counseling association offers classes

The Kenai Peninsula Counseling Association will host a presentation by Anne Henry, titled "Demystifying the Legislature and Licensing Boards" from 8:30 a.m. to noon Jan. 18 at the Peninsula Community Health Center at 230 E. Marydale Ave., Suite 2, Soldotna. Three continuing education units will be available. The cost is $25 for members, $50 for non-members or $25 for those who want to attend but are not seeking continuing education units. Caregiver meetings set

The National Caregiver Support Program will hold meetings at the following places:

* Jan. 21 Kenai Senior Citizens Center, caregiver training: safe transfer, bed rest and wheelchair use with Nancy Farrington of Kayoktuk Care, from 1 to 3 p.m.; and

* Jan. 29 Soldotna Senior Citizens Center, caregiver peer support meeting from 1 to 3 p.m.

Presidential caucus set

District 33 and 34 Democrats will meet for the District Democratic Presidential Caucus on at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Soldotna Sports Center.

Democrats will have the opportunity to participate in a fan-out vote for their favorite presidential candidate. Voter registration will be available. Delegates to the state convention also will be elected. For more information, call Sharon at 262-6298.

FCS board meeting planned

Frontier Community Services will hold a board of director's meeting from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Soldotna Sports Center. Election of officers will be held and agency director's will report on the status of individual programs. For more information, call Kathy Kenner at 262-6331.

Soccer registration continues

The Boys and Girls Club is holding indoor soccer registration through Feb. 8. Youth ages 4 to fifth grade.

Cost is $50 plus a Boys and Girls Club membership fee of $20.
