Soldotna resident Katherine Ann Duck died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2004, at her home in Soldotna. She was 55.
At this time, no services are planned.
Ms. Duck was born July 2, 1948, in Modesto, Calif. She moved to Soldotna in 1986.
She loved sewing, embroidery, spending time with family and her pets and horse.
"Mom always had time for her family. We will always remember the times and will hold them close to our hearts. Her family is very proud of her because she is going to a college in Arizona. She wanted her body given to science so they might find a way to help others.
"When she graduates, she will come back home. Her ashes will be spread on the same lilac bushes that her mom's ashes were spread. We love you, Mom, and will miss you dearly," her family said.
Ms. Duck is survived by sister, Anita Finch of Soldotna; brothers, Richard Duck of Soldotna and James Duck of Oregon; son, Paul Richard Coleman Jr. of Washington; daughters, Ruby Dawn Knight of Florida and AnnaMarie Coleman of Soldotna; grandchildren, Kristina Blackburn of Soldotna, Russel Simmons of Florida, Jessica Blackburn of Soldotna, Rachel Simmons of Florida, Desirae Challans of Soldotna, Kersita Coleman of Maryland, Chandell Coleman of Washington, Alexis Coleman of Washington, and Shane Coleman of Soldotna; and other family members.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
