Good morning.

Something to think about: "Good thoughts are beautiful flowers, promoting good deeds and making others happy, thereby enriching our lives and bringing us happiness." — author unknown.

The Nikiski Senior Service Area Board meeting is at 5 p.m. today. The meeting is held at the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center.

The public is encouraged to attend.

The Nikiski Fire Department will present a carbon monoxide informational talk at 12:20 p.m. Jan. 19 at the senior center. The state fire marshal's office has added carbon monoxide information to its Web site at www.ak

burny.com.

As of Jan. 1, carbon monoxide alarms will be required in all qualifying dwelling units throughout Alaska — state Statute 18.070.095(a).

Changes have taken place at the senior center. Jean Nappier's position has changed to associate care coordinator. She was the outreach response representative.

Annie Dunaway is now helping with activities, ceramics and fund-raisers.

Linda Laughridge is serving in the Care Center as assistant.

Note the price change of lunch at the senior center. Members attending their general meeting Dec. 8 voted to increase it. Lunches are now $5 for senior citizens and $6 for nonseniors.

Swimming lessons are going on at Nikiski pool today through 27. For more information, call 776-8800.

Celebrating a birthday today are Arnold Sullenger and Debra Little; Wednesday: Cathy Parker; Thursday: Roy Inman and Dave Young; Friday: Gale Eckert and David Peterson; and Sunday: Colleen Vance.

Celebrating an anniversary today are William and Maxine Bullington, and on Friday, Kenny and Wendy Morse.

Enjoy the day.
