Arctic Winter Games recyclers invited

Re-group, a recycling education group, will meet at 6:30 p.m. today in the Kenai Peninsula College commons. Anyone interested in learning about local recycling options or in helping with recycling during the Arctic Winter Games may attend.

Fish and Game committee to elect members

The Kenai-Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road to elect committee members to fill nine openings. Following the public election, the group will elect officers and vote on 2006 wild game proposals.

Livestock specialist to speak

Milan Shipka, an animal scientist and livestock specialist, will speak on ration balancing from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building. For more information, call the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Services office at 262-5824.

Kasilof historians to elect officers

The Kasilof Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at Tustumena Elementary School to elect officers, discuss bylaw changes and accept 2006 membership dues. No program is planned. For more information, call 262-2439.

Teen nights planned in Nikiski

North Peninsula Recreation is offering Teen Night Friday from 8 to 10 p.m. this week and on Jan. 27 at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. Teen Night is open to youths age 13 to 18 and costs $2 per participant.
