JUNEAU (AP) -- Juneau's tourism director has been hired as communications director for the Alaska Permanent Fund Corp.
Maria Gladziszewski will replace Jim Kelly, who retired at the end of November, said Bob Bartholomew, chief operating officer for the corporation.
Gladziszewski has worked for the municipality for two years, handling tourism issues, including development of the city's long-range tourism plan, and special projects for the city manager's office. Before that, she was a legislative analyst and manager of Legislative Research Services for the Legislature.
The permanent fund position is a part of the corporation's management team, Bartholomew said. The corporation handles the investment of permanent fund assets, while the Department of Revenue administers the dividend program.
Gladziszewski earned $64,000 as the city's tourism director and will make $74,000 in her new job, Bartholomew said.
