Benjamin Roland Clark Jr.

Benjamin Roland Clark Jr. died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at Elmendorf Air Force Base Hospital in Anchorage after a long battle with heart disease. He was 61.

Memorial services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Elks Lodge in Soldotna.

Mr. Clark was born June 14, 1943, in Brainerd, Minn. He served in the U.S. Army during the late 1960s in Thailand. He moved to Alaska in 1984 and worked for Tim's Janitorial.

Mr. Clark enjoyed building models, repairing machinery for friends and inventing.

"He will be missed by all who knew him," his family said.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben Clark Sr. and Flossie (Mills) Gronhoy; and sister, Janice (Clark) Gorton.

He is survived by his son, Mathew Raymond Clark of Soldotna; granddaughters, Sydney and Savannah of Soldotna; and sisters, Charlotte Rogers, of Soldotna, Wanda Gibbs of Yakima, Wash., and Juanita Olds of Reedsburg, Wis.

Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
