Chambers announce schedules

The Nikiski Chamber of Commerce has moved the venue of its weekly luncheon to Ohana's Family Restaurant.

Gary Davis with Kenai Peninsula Borough Roads director, will speak at the luncheon at noon today. Gary Superman, president of the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly, will speak Jan. 20.

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon Tuesday at the Riverside House. Rosie Reeder will have a presentation on Toastmasters. For more information, call Shanon Hamrick at 262-9814.

John Zager, general manager for Unocal's Alaska business unit, will be the featured speaker at the Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon at noon Wednesday at Paradisos. Lunch is $11. For more information, call 283-7989.

Realtors association elects new officers

The Kenai Peninsula Association of Realtors announced its officers for 2005. They are Adeena Wilcox, president; Kelly Griebel, vice president; Dorothy Cunningham, president-elect; Mark White, past president; Anna Johns, secretary; Esther Chambers, treasurer; and Tracy Prior, John Sivley and Steve Crane, directors at large.

In addition, Wilcox was named 2004 Realtor of the Year, and Aaron Swanson of Alaska USA Mortgage Co. was honored for being the 2004 Affiliate of the Year.

Date changes for nonprofit workshops

The Foraker Group has changed the date of its classes for nonprofit organizations to Jan. 27. The classes will take place in Homer at the Islands and Oceans Visitor Center, Mile 95 of the Sterling Highway. The first session, Developing a Volunteer Program, will be from 8 a.m. until noon. The cost is $50 for people from Foraker partner organizations and $125 for all others.

The second session, Recruitment Strategies for volunteer programs, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. The cost is $25 for people from Foraker partner organizations and $65 for all others. Bishop's Attic closed for remodeling

The Bishop's Attic on the Kenai Spur Highway in Soldotna will be closed for remodeling Monday through Jan. 21. It will reopen Jan. 22.

Homer chamber looking for recipes

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Homer Jackpot Halibut Derby, the derby is looking for recipes for a seafood cookbook to sell this summer. Kenai chamber to celebrate 50 years
