Poet's Corner: Another Year - With Me!

365 days fill each year and soon December 31 is here

We say goodbye to yesterdays and look to another year

Then on January first we welcome a brand new start

To embrace goals and embark on tasks with a happy heart

Tradition never changed as we continue to celebrate the day

So grow old with me and we will have fun along the way

"Happy New Year" we say and look forward to our walk

Still filled with anticipation and planning, not just idle talk

Our long journey in life reaped its share of amazing victories

And we will treasure added moments of precious memories

Then there will be times when our days will be hit with tough trials

Where instead of facing the battles - we may choose denial

That's when we should reach out - past our comfort zone

Someone will help us and prove that we do not stand alone

We don't always know what the next step in life will be

Or if the choices we make each time will hold the right key

But let's start our year filled with hope for JOY and success
