KETCHIKAN (AP) -- A Ketchikan jury found Frank W. Mooney guilty of first-degree sexual assault Friday after less than a day of deliberation.
Mooney was charged with assaulting a woman Sept. 10. According to court records, the woman was able to escape afterward and Mooney chased her down Tongass Avenue. Both he and the victim were partially clothed during the chase.
Superior Court Judge Michael Thompson set a March 18 sentencing hearing in Ketchikan Superior Court. Mooney faces up to 30 years in prison.
