Horton coming to library

Monopoly tournaments to be held
The Peninsula Winter Games will host its annual adult and youth monopoly tournaments in January at the Aspen Hotel in Soldotna. Prizes will be awarded. Space is limited.
The adult tournament begins at 6 p.m. Saturday. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.

Indoor soccer set begin
The Boys and Girls Club is taking registrations for its indoor soccer league for children ages 4 years through fifth grade. Register in person at the Kenai clubhouse from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Mailed and faxed registrations also are accepted. Registration forms are available a www.positiveplaceforkids.com. Registration deadline is Feb. 9. The season will run March 26 through May 12. The cost is $50 per child and they must be a 2007 member. For more information, call 283-2682.
Snowmachine fundraiser set to ride
The Way Out Women (WOW) will hold its annual snowmachine ride March 3. Proceeds will benefit Central Peninsula Hospital’s cancer fund that assists local cancer patients. The Central Peninsula Health Foundation will administer the funds through the Oncology and Infusion Center at Central Peninsula Hospital.
The $100 entry fee will include a continental breakfast, “goody bag” and a limited edition T-shirt. There will be prizes and a chance to ride the new Polaris snowmachines. Riders are encouraged to seek pledges. Pledges can be turned in early or at the event.
The deadline for registration is Feb. 15. People may register after Feb. 15, but there is no guarantee “goody bags” will be available.
