The Nikiski girls and the Hutchison boys won the 18th Annual Nikiski Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday.
The Nikiski girls topped Hutchison, 59-21, to claim the title and Hutchison beat Nikiski to win the boys’ title.
Senior Becca Carlson led the Bulldogs with 12 points, senior Hannah Thompson who earned tournament MVP honors scored 11 and senior Kyla Jorgensen added nine.
On Friday, Nikiski outscored Ninilchik 26-6 in the final quarter to notch a 54-40 victory. Carlson had 15 points to pace Nikiski, while Eliza Chadwick added 10 points. For Ninilchik, Krista Leman had 15 points.
In other girls action on Friday, Skyview, behind 14 points from Brittany Meyer, 13 points from Melissa Fay and 11 points from Nicole Van Ryzin, defeated Hutchison 50-16.
On Friday, Hutchison notched a 62-36 victory over Skyview, with Cole Daniel scoring 23 points and Ben Snow adding 13. Gregor Bosick paced the Panthers with 11 points.
In other boys action on Friday, Ninilchik defeated Nikiski 59-46 behind 21 points from Austin Vanderford. Dan Roderick added 18 points for the Wolverines, while Brandon Nobles had 11. Kenny Fagan paced Nikiski with 12.
Delta Junction girls 54, Seward 36
The visiting Huskies picked up a nonconference victory on Saturday. Rubye Foldager had 15 points for the Seahawks.
Delta Junction boys 63, Seward 56
The visiting Huskies put three players in double figures to defeat the Seahawks in nonconference action on Saturday. Robert Perea paced Seward with 12 points.
Cook Inlet Academy boys 60, Nenana 44
Ryan Doyle scored 13 points in leading the Eagles past visiting Nenana on Saturday.
Scott Litchfield and John Forsi each added 10 for CIA, which led by 10 points at halftime and 26 after three periods.
Charlie O’Brien paced Nenana with 30 points in the loss.
Cook Inlet Academy girls 51, Nenana 13
The Eagles limited the Lynx to one point in the second quarter and also drained six 3-pointers in pounding Nenana on Saturday.
Melissa Moffis scored a game-high 23 points for CIA while Amie Smithwick notched 12, Brooke Forsi recorded 10 and Chelsea Hardcastle chipped in six.
Bristol Bay boys 84, Seldovia 44
Mason King poured in 34 points as the visiting Angels notched a Southcentral Conference victory over the Sea Otters on Friday.
Mike Jedlicka added 16 points for Bristol Bay, while Bryin Pacheco had 13. For Seldovia, Levi Harkness had 14.
Seward boys 58, Delta Junction 47
Caleb Adelmann netted a game-high 28 points as the Seahawks topped the Huskies on Friday night.
Billy Beck scored 14 points for Seward, which led by 10 at the break.
Delta girls 56, Seward 42
Despite outscoring Delta by two in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks still fell to the Huskies on Friday night.
Denali Foldager scored a team-high 14 points for Seward while Rubye Foldager added 12 in defeat.
Both teams struggled at the line, with Delta hitting only 4-of-20 and Seward connecting on 18-of-32.
