Kasilof biathlete Jay Hakkinen finished 16th in a 12.5-kilometer World Cup pursuit on Sunday in Ruhpolding, Germany.
Hakkinen had taken 17th in the 10-kilometer sprint on Saturday after a clean-shooting race. The pursuit has four shooting stages, and Hakkinen had a penalty in each of the final three stages on Sunday.
"You always want more, but this was still good," Hakkinen said in a statement released by U.S. Biathlon. "I moved up. I am still trying to get used to being in these fast races (after several subpar performances several weeks ago). It is nice to be consistent again. One of the keys today was my skis, which were super!"
