FAIRANKS (AP) -- A 19-year-old Eielson Air Force Base airman was shot and killed early Sunday morning at a mobile home park south of Fairbanks.

Airman 1st Class Terry Lee Hachtel Jr. died in the shooting. He was assigned to the 354th Munitions Flight as a member of the maintenance squadron.

Alaska State Troopers said they responded to a report of a shooting at 12:25 a.m. at Lakeview Terrace Mobile Home Court.

Eric Olsen, the lead trooper investigator, said people involved in the shooting have been identified but no one has been taken into custody and the investigation is continuing.

''We are pursuing a lot leads and have quite a few people to talk to still,'' Olsen said.

Sandy Farmer, the mobile home park manager, said Hachtel did not live at the address where the shooting took place. Troopers listed Hachtel's address as North Pole.

A spokesman for Eielson Air Force Base said Hachtel's hometown is Roy, Utah.
