Student teacher grateful for opportunity

Letter to the Editor

I would appreciate the opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District.

Upon recently finishing my student teaching experience at Skyview High School and Soldotna Middle School, I have come away with a profound respect for education in our district. Teachers and administrators in our community are fully committed to the education of the all students.

After spending the past 18 weeks in the classroom, this experience reaffirms the belief that our schools are striving for excellence at the very highest level.

It is important that I thank those who were directly involved in my development as a teacher and a professional. Specifically, Matt Fischer, Shelli Church, Rob Moore, Sharon Moock, Ben Eveland, Randy Neill, Bob Ermold and Sammy Crawford.

It is my suggestion that if you see a local teacher or administrator from the area, spend a moment to say thank you for taking part in the daunting task that is education.

Finally I must thank the students. It is each of you whom I credit directly for this overwhelming positive and beneficial experience.
