Lifelong Alaska resident Carita Ulricksen died Friday Jan. 12, 2007, at Kat’s Elder Care Assisted Living Home in Kasilof. She was 89.
Memorial services will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 19, at Peninsula Memorial Chapel, 5839 Kenai Spur Highway in Kenai. A reception will immediately follow at Tyotkas Elder Center in Old Town Kenai.
Mrs. Ulricksen was born Oct. 17, 1917, in White Mountain, where she graduated high school. She had lived in Alaska all her life, living in such places as Nome, Homer, Sitka, Eagle River, Vakutat and Soldotna. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, berry picking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Trygue Ulricksen; and son, James Ulricksen.
She is survived by her sons, George O’Connor and Martin O’Connor, both of Anchorage, and Dennis O’Connor of Nome; daughters, Lorita O’Connor of Ninilchik and JoAnn Merchant and her husband of Kenai; grandchildren, Lee Anne O’Connor of Nome, James Abel Ulricksen of Soldotna, John O’Connor of Nome, David O’Connor of Nome, Eugene O’Connor of Anchorage, Connie O’Connor of Nome, Rebecca Siegal of Gresham, Ore., and Robert Merchant of Kenai.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
