Homer girls, SoHi boys get wins
The Homer and Soldotna basketball teams split a pair of Northern Lights Conference games on Monday in Homer.
The Homer girls avenged a loss at the Peninsula Challenge earlier this month by edging the Stars 56-53. Reba Temple paced Homer with 19 points, while Allison Horazdovsky added 14.
For Soldotna, Christa Kennedy dumped in 16 points while Karen Duffy had 12 points and Paige Blackburn added 10 points.
The Soldotna boys nailed six 3-pointers to top the Mariners. Brad Blossom had two 3-pointers en route to a game-high 17 points, Larson Kohler had three 3-pointers on the way to 14 points, and Kelly Seggerman had one 3-pointer mixed in his 11 points.
For Homer, Deonte Powe and Michael Fielding each had 11 points.
