Reader: Gov. Palin, please help

Letter to the Editor

The state's Department of Administration has recognized a tremendous recruitment and retention problem facing the state of Alaska. So what are they doing about it? It appears as if the Department of Administration wants to alienate its current supervisors with an inappropriate and insulting contract offer.

This contract will not assist in retaining competent employees or address recruitment concerns. It appears that the Department of Administration is oblivious to the repercussions of their current offer. Gov. Sarah Palin has the authority and insight to correct this course of action.

Gov. Palin, please address the state's recruitment and retention problem by offering fair and appropriate contracts to the work force and therefore ensuring all Alaskans receive the services they deserve. It's a matter of respect for all Alaskans.
