Donations bring smiles to many

Holidays can be stressful times for all of us, but for those suffering from abuse it can be a devastating and lonely time, as well.

We are thankful that individuals and organizations in our area recognize this and respond so thoughtfully. The Kenai Rotary completed and installed a new sign at the LeeShore Center. We received donations from the Civil Air Patrol members (toys); veterans (turkeys, ham, cranberry sauce, and stuffing mix); Kenai Piecemakers (65 handmade quilts); St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church (balls, hats, gloves, socks and scarves); Soldotna United Methodist Church (gift bags for women); Kenai United Methodist Church of the New Covenant (personal items, cookies, gift bags with toys and pajamas); 1st National Bank of Anchorage, Kenai branch (smoked turkeys); Curves for Women (turkeys, other food items, toys); Eagles Aerie No. 35255 and Auxiliary (Santa party for the children); David Darsey (Christmas candy and toys); Debra Adamson (gingerbread lighthouse); and Lenora Repin (new gloves).

We apologize if we have missed any donors. Your efforts brought smiles to many faces. We thank you.

Barbara Waters

Interim executive director
