Fleury beats Flyers

NEW YORK -- Theo Fleury tied the game with 2:52 left in regulation and won it in overtime as Mike Richter made 31 saves for his 266th career victory Tuesday night in New York's 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Fleury, who also assisted on the other two New York goals, crashed the net and got the puck past Philadelphia goalie Roman Cechmanek with 2:14 left in the extra session. The win moved Richter into a tie with Ed Giacomin for the most victories in Rangers history.

Philadelphia, which squandered 2-0 and 3-2 leads, had a four-game winning streak and a six-game (4-0-2) unbeaten run snapped.

Sabres 3, Lightning 1

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Stu Barnes scored twice and Miroslav Satan had a goal and two assists as Buffalo downed the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-1.

Buffalo goalie Dominik Hasek, trying for back-to-back shutout wins for the second time this season, stopped a season-high 40 shots. Buffalo's four wins previous to Tuesday had come by way of the shutout, a streak that was snapped by Sheldon Keefe's goal at the 10:36 mark of the third period. The streak began when Hasek blanked Ottawa 4-0 on Dec. 29.

Kings 7, Senators 6, OT

OTTAWA -- Bryan Smolinski's third goal of the game at 2:01 of overtime rallied the Los Angeles Kings from a four-goal deficit to beat the Ottawa Senators.

Smolinski took a pass from Mathieu Schneider and beat goaltender Patrick Lalime for the winner.

Bruins 5, Devils 4

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Bill Guerin's goal with 1:21 to play ended a seven-goal, third-period barrage and gave the Boston Bruins their fourth straight victory, 5-4 over the New Jersey Devils.

The Bruins, who are now 8-3-3 over the last 14 games, ended New Jersey's unbeaten streak (7-0-4) at 11 straight.

Oilers 2, Predators 1

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Edmonton's Domenic Pittis scored his second goal in three games and Tommy Salo made 36 saves to lead the Oilers to a 2-1 victory over the Nashville Predators.

Avalanche 4, Islanders 1

DENVER -- Milan Hejduk scored two goals and Joe Sakic and Adam Deadmarsh each had a goal and two assists to lead Colorado over the New York Islanders 4-1.

Red Wings 4, Canucks 2

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Brendan Shanahan had a goal and three assists and the Detroit Red Wings extended their unbeaten streak against Vancouver to 15 games with a 4-2 win.

Hurricanes 3, Canadiens 2, OT

MONTREAL -- Josef Vasicek scored with 37.9 seconds left in the third period and Ron Francis scored 33 seconds into overtime as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Montreal Canadiens to run their undefeated streak to eight.
