Rehearsals for Requiem under way

The presentation of the Mozart Requiem is a joint project of Pier One Theatre, through the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra and the Homer High School concert choir under the direction of Mark Robinson.

A peninsulawide community choir will sing with the HHS students. There will be two performances the first weekend in April, one at the Homer Mariner Theatre and one at Kenai Central High School Auditorium. The following week, interested students and adults will travel to New York City to perform in Carnegie Hall with groups from around the country.

Soldotna and Kenai area rehearsals for adults interested in singing are held Wednesdays at Kenai Peninsula College from 7 to 9 p.m. Registration forms, scores and practice tapes will be available at rehearsals. Call Laura Norton at 299-2453 if you have questions.

In the Homer area, rehearsals for adults are Thursdays in the HHS choir room, also from 7 to 9 p.m. Registration forms, scores and practice tapes are available at Etude Music Studio.

For more information, call Laura Norton at 299-2453.
