Panthers pin Stars

The Skyview High School wrestling team edged Soldotna Thursday, defeating the Stars 36-33 in a dual meet at Skyview.

With matches in the varsity meet beginning at 171 pounds, Brandon Cleveland's 15-9 decision at 140, good for three points in the team standings, proved to be the margin of victory. The win put the Stars down by 18, and though Soldotna notched a pin by T.J. Stone at 152, a win by decision and a win by forfeit, the Stars fell just shy of overcoming the deficit.

Zach Rohr (189), Elliott Gauthier (103) and Eli Hutchison (112) notched pins for the Panthers.
