I would like to comment on the kindness and generosity of the employees and customers of Credit Union One for their contributions and gifts on behalf of the Angel Tree Program for 2004. I had the fun opportunity to "play Santa" to some of our local children in foster care, and I can say, unequivocally, how excited and happy the children were to receive their angel tree gifts.
Please understand that in a time when all we seem to hear about are the bad things that are happening in the world, people right here on the Kenai Peninsula gave generously to children they did not even know. Doesn't that humble you? It does me.
One kind person even provided a handmade quilt for one of the young teens a beautiful homemade quilt for her bed. I was deeply moved by the quality and quantity of the toys and gifts given by all of you. Your generosity shows the true meaning of Christmas has not left us but is alive and well in or community. What a great place this is to live!
Special, special thanks to all of the Credit Union One employees, who I suspect played a significant role in the angel tree gifts this year. (More than they would like to admit, I think!)
Thanks to all of you.
