Stephen Eugene 'Nikiski Steve' Martin
Kenai resident Stephen Eugene “Nikiski Steve” Martin died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at his residence in Kenai. He was 53.
A private family service was held. His ashes will be scattered at a later date at Crescent Creek.
Mr. Martin was born Feb. 21, 1953, in Baltimore. He moved to Alaska in August 1989 and lived in the Kenai and Nikiski areas.
He worked for APC, CISPRI and VECO.
“Steve moved to Alaska because he loved the great outdoors. He loved to gold mine and spend time with his grandkids. He enjoyed reading and puzzles,” his family said.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his father, Sterling.
He is survived by his spouse, Cathy Martin of Nikiski; children, Stephanie Pereault of Anchorage, Angela Segura of Palmer and Cody Martin and Jesse Martin of Nikiski; grandchildren, Tearsa Segura, Jim Segura III, Tristin Segura of Palmer, Kayla and Isaac Martin of Nikiski and Jacqueline Armstrong, Dylan Armstrong and Aidan Pereault of Anchorage; mother, Kitty; brother, Gordon; and sisters, Debbie and Lynne of San Diego.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
