Former Ninilchik resident Evelyn Ferguson died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, in Victoria, Texas. She was 70.

Memorial services will be held Friday, Feb. 1, at her daughter's house at 2302 Palm Drive, Victoria, Texas 77901

Mrs. Ferguson was born July 31, 1937, in Hobbs, N.M.

"She opened the first beauty shop in Ninilchik (Eve's Place) and helped in the operation of The Lunch Box. She lived in Ninilchik when you could let a child wander the beach, campsite to campsite, and watch with binoculars. There are too many tourists on the beaches these days. She loved fishing on the Russian River and riding the ferry," her family said.

Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ferguson; sister, Carlynne Whitworth; mother, Dama Whitworth; and father, Morris Whitworth.

She is survived by her daughters, Jaclynne Atwood, Kathy Lee, Tina Waskom; and stepson, Philip Ferguson.

Arrangements were made by Grace Funeral Home in Texas.
