Public health center closes for holiday

The Kenai Public Health Center will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The center will reopen Tuesday at 8 a.m. Call 335-3400 for more information.

Women in Business to meet

Women in Business 2010 will meet at noon Wednesday at Lauralee & Associates at 601 Frontage Road, Suite 203, upstairs in the Seaman Building in Kenai. The topic for the month is women's health.

More flu doses available

The Kenai Public Health Center received the regular annual influenza doses for age groups 4-years-old and older. Call the center for more information, at 335-3400.

Walk-in clinic hours are Mondays and Wednesdays at the Kenai Public Health Center from 1:30 to 4 p.m. and Thursdays at the Cottonwood Clinic in Soldotna from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Community ping pong continues

Public ping pong is held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Redoubt Elementary School.

Volunteers sought

The LeeShore Center is in need of year-round volunteers for crisis and non-crisis programs and as office support. The center is also seeking individuals whom can help keep its clothes donation closet in good order.

PWG gearing up

The annual youth Monopoly tournament for the Peninsula Winter Games will be held at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 25 at the Soldotna Sports Center conference rooms. Registration begins at 10 a.m.

Youth ages 8 to 18 years old are eligible to play. Prizes will be awarded.

Ski event planned

Tsalteshi trails annual Ski for women will be held Feb. 7. Females of all abilities may participate in the 5k classic at 11:30 a.m., or skate at 12:30 p.m.

Registration will be held at Kaladi Brothers on Kobuk on Feb. 5 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and again race day at 10:30 a.m.

Proceeds to benefit The LeeShore Center and Tsalteshi Trails.

Cribbage tournament returns

The Cook Inlet Lions cribbage tournament continues Saturdays at 3 p.m. at the American Legion Post 20 on Cook Street in Kenai. The public is invited to participate. For more information, call Raymond at 776-5688 or Bob at 776-5339.
