Quilters sought for exhibit
The Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center is currently looking for peninsula quilters interested in participating in the second annual Quilt Originals on the Kenai exhibition to be held Feb. 1 through March 10.
Acceptable quilt formats will be original design work either in a wall hanging or wearable art form.

Classical performance scheduled
The Performing Arts Society will present the Sitka Summer Music Festival musicians Feb. 8 at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna at 7:30 p.m. The musicians include Paul Rosenthal on violin, Evan Drachman on cello and Richard Dowling on piano.
The society will present classical violinist Helena Emery and her piano accompanist Loran Olsen on Feb. 24 at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna at 7:30 p.m.
Emery and Olsen also will present master classes and lessons for beginning through advanced string and piano students on Feb. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Kenai Peninsula College in Soldotna. Fees are $8 per student.
Private teachers who have students who might be interested as well as parents of students or the students themselves are encouraged to call Maria Allison at 283-3024 to register. Registrations must be made by Feb. 10 to make sure enough people are interested.
Tickets for both of the concerts are $15 and available at Northcountry Fair and River City Books in Soldotna and Alaskan Gift and Gallery and the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center in Kenai.

Hospice event planned
Hospice of the Central Peninsula will present an auction and wine tasting event at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Soldotna Senior Center. Tickets cost $37.50 per person and may be purchased by calling 262-0453.
Raffles and a silent auction will be held with all proceeds going toward hospice programs and services.
